REVIEW: Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion Pearl Aura SPF50+/PA+++The Box Natural Beige

Hi Everyone!

I am happy to bring to you a review on a cushion foundation I've had for a while. It's the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion Pearl Aura. It's been around for about a year, I guess and obviously, I waited till its price dropped to $10.80. Yes, it was that cheap. But on its launch, I think it was at the usual cushion price for Etude House which is $21.60. Good deal.

I remembered watching that CF with Krystal and Beenzino and I was like, Wowww. Never have I seen a cushion foundation with white dots on it. How silly it seems now. Other brands have come up with similar concepts, such as the Holika Holika Dodo Cat Cushion, which in my opinion is much cuter with the little paw design. Anyways, I knew I wanted to give it a try, one day. lol

Check out the CF. Very groovy, which is not quite the usual Etude House style. Nonethless, it is a catchy CF.

This cushion is available in two different shades only: Light Beige and Natural Beige. I decided to go with Natural Beige to avoid looking like a white ghost.

What it is

This flawless cushion foundation creates beautiful pearly bright skin with its full coverage and smoothing effects.

How to apply:

After morning skincare routine, apply BB cream by pressing the puff into the sponge and pat the puff onto the face. For touch-ups, reapply as desired.

Packaging

Its packaging is roughly the same as the Etude House Precious Mineral Cushion, that is both the box and the cushion is in a cute yet simple pearly white plastic case. Light and portable It is very easy to remove and fit in a refill.

The Cushion

It is a regular BB foundation soaked in a sponge, except that it has those 6 white dots in the middle. I was amazed by the fact that the foundation did not bleed into the white dots. They were clearly 6 distinct white dots . They kind of get messed up as you use the product with time, especially if like, me, you are kind of forceful as you press the air puff onto the sponge, and you twist and turn the puff into the product.lol

The cushion. How special it looks :D

First swatch on the air puff

The product overall has a floral powdery scent similar to the Etude House Precious Mineral Magic Any Cushion in Magic Pink on which I did a review.

As you press the puff onto the sponge, the BB foundation and the 6 white dots get imprinted on the puff. What is weird with these dots, which I thought act as a brightening or highlighting product, is that they don't appear white on the skin but purple. They actually swatch as micro purple glitters. But as you work the product into the skin and blend it with the BB cushion, the little sparkles fade away.

Unlike the other cushions I've used this one is on the thicker side and produce a not-so-dewy finish. It has a medium coverage. Although it covers pores quite well, pimples and scars are still clear beneath it. It is not build-able neither. So you still have to use a concealer. But this cushion kind of unifies my skin tone in a decent way.

With this cushion, I had to be quite cautious with what skincare I layered underneath as the foundation tends to become thick, cakey, and crease making my fine lines so obvious. This made me looked old. Duh. So, better not apply thick moisturizers or sunscreens beforehand to avoid caking up. Also, avoid layering that cushion too much on your face.

How it looks on my face
As for its lasting power, the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion Pearl Aura does not last that long, it wears off throughout the day, my pores become visible again and so do my horrible acne. I'd say my face looks almost flawless for half a day. Touch-ups are highly required, especially on a hot weather.

Pros:
-Portable
-Other Etude House Refills can be used in that same casing
-Affordable
-Brightening

Cons:
-Can cake up
-Medium Coverage
-Not long-lasting

Conclusion

Will I repurchase it? Probably no. I just found out it was discontinued on Etude House Website. But if you still wanna try it, it's available on Ebay, Amazon and online Korean retail stores and it is much expensive though. Do I recommend it? Not really. There are much better cushions out there. I don't like it nor do I hate it as such. It's an "okay" cushion to me. Nothing to rave about. But I  have yet to review THEFACESHOP Intense CC Cover Cushion, which you should definitely watch out for.

Stay Beautiful and Sweet
