REVIEW: Innisfree Soybean Energy Essence EXStart Set and Soybean energy oil

Hi Lovelies!

Skincare time! Big Innisfree fan as I am, let's try the Innisfree Soybean Energy Essence EX Start Set and  Soybean energy oil.

With the Innisfree Soybean Energy Essence, you get a full-size Soybean Energy Essence EX (150mL) and free samples of the soybean energy oil (5mL), soybean energy skin (15mL) and soybean energy lotion (15mL), all for $40. Quite expensive.

Moreover, I purchased the Innisfree Soybean energy oil for $32.

I bought all of the above on Innisfree's global online store: www.innisfreeworld.com and this post is not sponsored by the way.

Ingredients
Background on Natural Fermentation of Jeju's Indigenous Soybeans

Green soybeans rich in antioxidants are indigenous to Jeju Island. They have been known to be well-suited to fermentation. These green soybeans have been reborn by innisfree's natural fermentation science from a 620m height of Halla Mountain where temperate climate and polar climate meet. Jeju green soybeans' fermented extract from 300-day fermentation and 4-step high concentration process provides an excellent anti-aging effect to tighten skin, and strengthens the skin barrier with soybean oil generated in the fermentation process to make skin elastic and radiant.

My experience with the product

Like many other renowned brands that carry an essence product, the Soybean Energy Essence comes in a tall (though plastic) bottle (quite similar to the SKII and Missha Time Revolution Essence). It is not quite as popular as the two products I've mentioned, but I wanted to give it a try 'cause it is cheaper and more easily available than the others for me. hehehe

The essence itself is a thick viscous colorless liquid. However it is not sticky and absorbs quite fast into the skin. It is very helpful for the winter when my skin gets super dry. I love it. A 150mL bottle goes a long way. Just a few drops on a cotton pad and pat it all over the face. You can even make your own sheet masks using cotton pads thanks to this essence.

Soybean energy oil 5 mL

This anti-aging oil with fermented oil of Jeju's indigenous green beans replenishes the skin with healthy radiance.

What it is
1. Fermented oil of green soybeans for stronger skin barrier and instant skin radiance care!
Fine particles of Jeju soybeans' fermented oil not only reinforce the skin barrier but also replenish the skin with healthy radiance.

2. A melt-in, lightweight texture
The watery-textured, rapid-absorbing and non-greasy oil formula is gentle enough even for oily and combination skin types.

3. Ideal for your skin that looks greasy but feels dry from within
Use when your skin is rough and flaking due to different conditions on the inside and outside.
How to use
Use after Soybean Energy Essence or after cleansing. Apply and massage 2-3 drops of oil and gently pat with palms. (*Tip: You can also mix essence and oil.)

Ingredients

BACILLUS/SOYBEAN FERMENT EXTRACT, GLYCERIN, PROPANEDIOL, METHYL GLUCETH-20, POLYGLYCERIN-3, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, ARBUTIN, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, ADENOSINE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, XANTHAN GUM, HYDROXYPROPYL CYCLODEXTRIN, PPG-13- DECYLTETRADECETH-24, DISODIUM EDTA, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, FRAGRANCE

My experience with the product

Unlike the essence, the oil is more like an oil. LOL it is very greasy-looking on first application but it absorbs very fast into the skin and gives it the moisture it needs. a few drops goes a long way too. It does help as much with combating dry skin. It could be even more effective than the essence in my opinion. With its dropper, it is a fast way to just get a few drops and dab onto the skin. Even if it's an oil, you might believe it would get messy on your hands and you have to wash them after applying it. Hopefully, it is not like hair oils or even food oils (lol), where a single drop can result in a mess and you can barely hold anything. This oil is much more light-weight and even after applying on your face, you can carry on with your routine and even do your normal stuffs. Ha

Since I loved that oil so much and that I am travelling abroad soon, I bought the full-size product which is 60 mL. however, thee big vial is heavier and the dropper is much harder to control than the small sample-sized ones. So, what I do is I take some of the product in the full-sized bottle and fill in the sample bottle, which is more practical and you are less likely to waste product, trust me.

    My experience with the product

The lotion is a bit like the skin except that it is thicker and has the same floral scent. It is still lightweight. I do like it though, but there is nothing quite special about it.

    Conclusion

I want to point out that I used the whole collection together for a while until the samples were over, and then I used the essence with other products I am using. I do wanna say that altogether it is  a cool collection that you can integrate in your routine and I recommend it for everyday use, even for mature skin or for girls in their late twenties like me. Lol But I do have a soft spot for the essence and the oil. If your skin feels like the Sahara Desert, they are good lifesavers. The products in this collection are more on the expensive side compared to other Innisfree skincare products. Even the full-size version of the soybean skin and lotion are, at USD 26 each, more expensive than the Olive or Green tea ones, but they perform just as fine. So, if you have to splurge on any of the above products (in their full-size version of course), the oil and the essence would be more worthwhile.

Have you tried the Innisfree Soybean collection? Did you like the products? If yes, do leave a comment down below. I'd love to hear from you guys :D

Stay Beautiful and Sweet
