REVIEW: Etude House "Be My Universe" Multi Palette

Hi Beauties!

December was the month of my biggest splurge on eye shadows.
I just went absolutely crazy on palettes and Etude House totally blew my mind with the multi palettes it released for its end of year 2017 collection.

I who has always been attracted to Astronomy stuffs, was instantly hooked on the packaging of that collection. I was not really tempted by other products such as the lipsticks and primer. But I could not let go of the palettes. I just could not. This is why I bought BOTH!!! I usually tend to buy only “one of the palettes” in a collection. But this time I could not choose. I had too. Those holographic packaging and the engraved Saturn planet in the blusher and highlighter!!! Well, You will get me.

I just wanna point out that I purchased these palettes in November 2017 for $19.76 each and received them end of February 2018 in a quite pitiful state. Well, hopefully, the products themselves were in good shape. But the packaging was quite crushed. I received a literally flattened box -_-

Anyways, just look a the ads that caught my eye on the Net, mainly on Instagram. Also, I learned that this was the last commercial campaign of Krystal Jung from f(x). She got me into the Etude House and K-beauty frenzy. *Heartbroken. She has now joined Clio which is a more mature brand.

Below are some swatches provided by Etude House of the  "Be My Universe" Multi Palettes :

The Products

Now look at that packaging. How cute, adorable and damaged do they look? The Pinky Galaxy is the pink one, obviously and the Golden Galaxy is the black one. Both have an in-built mirror. But no brushes, which kind of suck, unless you don't mind using your fingers.

Pinky Galaxy

The Pinky Galaxy palette has a more pinkish girlish theme to it. It has that iridescent holographic cover, with Saturn-looking planet on it. lol It is the most adorable packaging of the two.

So the Pinky Galaxy Palette has 6 eye shadows and a blusher:

Eye shadows:
1.Andromeda:Glittery Dark Purple
2. Moon-Light: Pale Pink Champagne Holographic
3.Mercury: Matte Cream
4.Venus:Matte Latte Brown
5. Red Worm-hole: Shimmery Cranberry Red
6. Time-warp:Glittery Dried Rose

My Thoughts

Okay, the palettes from the Etude House "Be My Universe" Multi Palettes are not the best in the world. They are not as pigmented as the famed single shadows by Etude House which are usually top-notch. I'd say that they swatch well with the fingers and perform really badly with a brush, unless wet. If you are someone who goes to work and prefer a more natural look, that palette could suit your tastes. As for me, I don't really like the glittery shades as they are chunky and cause fall-outs. The mattes are almost the same in both palettes and are really lacking in the pigmentation department but they are very buttery in texture. The shimmery colors, on the other hand, are gorgeous. I freaking love Etude House's shimmery shadows. Mars, Yorktown, and Red Worm-Hole are my favourite shadows overall. As for the blush and the highlighter, I prefer the Pink Planet much more. It has this soft natural salmon pink hue to it on the cheeks which is absolutely beautiful and cute. It even has some shimmer in it but not too much. So it does highlight the cheekbones. The highlighter in the Golden Galaxy Palette feels a bit chunky and unnatural.

Conclusion

So here you go, that's my thoughts on the Galaxy Palettes from Etude House. Okay they are, for sure, not the best in the market. Not very pigmented. Have to work had to get some pigments on them eyelids. However, I could not resist those adorable Astronomy packagings. I had to have my hands on those. Mainly for the sake of packaging. No regrets for the packaging. I'm in love. The products overall are okay. But I've used better. I've been absolutely loving Colourpop palettes lately. So, these Galaxy Palettes are a bit meh. But again, yayyy to the packaging. These palettes are still available on the official website of Etude House. If you are cute packaging obsessed, I'd recommend the Pinky Galaxy one to you 'cause it has a more holographic lid. If you wanna buy those limited edition palettes, grab yours now. There's a sale going on www.etudehouse.com.

Lemme know what you think about the palettes, if you've used them, loved them or hated them, down in the comments section below.

Stay Beautiful and Sweet
