REVIEW: Etude House Blend For Eyes in #3 Pink Up

Hi Beauty Passionates!

How are you all doing?

This time I'm reviewing the Etude House Blend For Eyes in #3 Pink Up. It's a not so quite new eyeshadow quad palette that Etude House came up with. And since that brand is quite known for its usually very popular mono-shadows, I wanted to give that one a try.

That quad is available in so many different colors and it costs $13.20. When it was first launched, it came in 4 different types:

-#1 Dry Rose, which consists of Perfumed potpourri (a matte pale brown to be used as base), Roseberry (a shimmery pink brown shade), Rose Garden (a glittery coffee brown shade), and Rose Bouquet (Matte dark pinkish red shade, like a dried rose)

-#2 Orange Party, which consists of Ginger Orange (matte beige shade), Orange peel (shimmery coffee brown shade), Orange Kiss (Glittery sand-like shade), Orange Basket (matte orange-brown shade)

-#3 Pink Up, which consists of Pink Cumulus (Shimmery pale orange shade), Pink Marshmellow (slightly shimmery pink brown shade), Pink Flash (Matte brown shade), Smokey Cat (glittery chocolate brown shade)

-#4 Cozy Beige, which consists of Powder Butter (matte champagne shade), French Linen (shimmery brown), Cinnamon Sparkle (glittery cinnamon color, lol), Teddy Bear (shimmery coffee brown).

At that time, when I purchased it on the Etude House website, there was a promotion going on. My first choice was Dry Rose which looked so appealing to me but it was really quick in going out of stock.

Ingredients:

<Pink Up>

Packaging

The palette is very simple and basic, made of plastic and comes with no brush and no mirror. It has a transparent lid on which is written the brand name and "Blend for 4 Eyes".

Inside are the four eyeshadows and yeah, that's just it.

My Thoughts

This eyeshadow palette is, I admit, not as great as the Look At My Eyes single shadows, which are much more pigmented and easier to work with. The shades from Pink Up are appealing and subtle for a day-to-day look. But without a primer, you will have to apply several layers before seeing any results. Also, they don't look as sheer as advertised.

Pink Cumulus can become more visible as it is being layered when applied without primer. But there are lots of fallouts and you might end up with a shimmery nose.

Pink Marshmallow is less shimmery, Like semi-matte and semi-shimmery and it has to be layered multiple times  without primer.
Pink Flash is used as a base shadow but to be honest, it is barely visible on my fair skin. It only looks as if I've got even more tired eyes.

Smokey Cat may appear to be a darker colour but, it is more like glitter and doesn't adhere well to skin without primer and it is not pigmented enough, in my opinion.

What I don't like about these eye shadows is that they don't apply well with a brush. Better use your fingers to apply the different colors. They are not easy to blend and well, they require a primer or even eye cream to look acceptably good on my eyes. I guess those eye shadows would do well on those who've got oily eyelids so that they get a good adherence.

Conclusion

I considered buying the other palettes. The colors looked so pretty online. But seeing how this one fared, I am discouraged from purchasing more from this collection. If you really want something that is not very pigmented for a daily look, you can have a go. If, like me you love super pigmented stuff even for a daily look, better forget about it.

Stay Beautiful and Sweet
