After a quite a long time, I've had a delivery straight from Seoul, South Korea. Because of the MERS epidemic , I've restrained myself from importing stuffs from there 'cause of the trouble customs here might pose. Yeah, I personally emailed reps from different companies and they informed that despite all the precautions they might be taking with their manufacturing processes, they could not guarantee the customs in my country would allow the products here. So, I chose to abstain from buying straight from Korea to avoid bureaucratic hassles, but since there was THEFACESHOP, I could bear it all. Enough with my endless lamentations, today is a great day for me, hehe.
What really pushed me to shop, was actually the promotions Etude House was offering on its website. It was offering free discovery kits, lower prices for its best-selling and new products. Most importantly, they were offering free shipping for purchases above $50. Yayy
Sorry for the crappy photo quality |
Before I review the products one by one, I'd like to give you little sneak peek at my haul. They might certainly be products you already know but for my own pleasure and for those who are new to Korean cosmetics, I'm going to review them anyways.
My latest purchase includes:
-1 Precious Mineral Magic Any Cushion Pink
-1 Moistfull Collagen Cream 60 mL
-1 Bling Me Prism Look at My Eyes in OR213 Suede Tassel
-1 Look at My Eyes Cafe OR204
-5 I Need You Sheet masks
-1 Color My Brows
-Free Discovery Kit
I think my craze for Korean makeup really started after I watched the CF for that cushion, which features f(x)'s Krystal and Sulli, and ShinEe. I was mind-blown by the cuteness overload of that CF. It was also my first time knowing about the blessed existence of cushions in this world. Since then, I vowed myself to buy one of these cuties one day. It's true that I bought other cushions along the way, but the right time to buy it came today. The fact that I hesitated among the 3 different Magic Any cushions was the main reason why I delayed so much. Each time I would go on that website, I would stop on that cushion's page, ponder over it and end up leaving it aside for later consideration. I tend to think a lot before buying something (So annoying). But that packaging itself was enough to make me melt. On the different pictures I saw online, it looked simple and boring. It actually looks so cute (as expected of Etude House) like a pink macaroon or a compact for dolls. OMG, I can't wait to try it and review it for you guys ;)
Moistfull Collagen Cream 60 mL
This one was on discount. From $18 to $12.60. Nice! I usually don't vouch on Etude House's skincare as it is mainly known for its make-up but I wanna gave it a try for once. It is actually a regular in Etude House's line but this time, it came in the form of a set with a micro-size sample of the Moistfull Collagen Size. It's smaller than I actually expected but still cute. It also provided a spatula, which I appreciate. What's more is that to make the jar smaller, they filled it with cream up to the brim (lol). One thing that bugged me was that the essence bottle was leaking. At least a quarter of the sample was lost. That sample didn't have a stopper like my sample toner from Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Toner. Even if it's a sample, give it some love too!!! It caused quite a mess when I opened the box. Moreover, I bought it almost on the eve they released the 75 mL version which came with a 4-in-1 discovery kit and a new CF with Krystal. I missed it, but I would have missed the Free Shipping Offer then (pff). In any case, I look up to that product as well.
Bling Me Prism Look at My Eyes in OR213 Suede Tassel & Look at My Eyes Cafe OR204
Etude House Eyeshadows are so adorable and so many colors are available to choose from. Since I have my old palettes to use up, I chose colors that I don't have in my collection. The Look at My Eyes Cafe OR204 is a nice coral (My fave color) and the Bling Me Prism Look at My Eyes in OR213 Suede Tassel which is part of a limited edition series (in collaboration with High Cheeks), is a shimmery brown. Have to swatch them to really define that color.
I Need You Sheet masks
I'm all about sheet masks lately. Even if I never thought of using those from Etude House, I ended up picking up a few. Blogging and discounts completely changed me indeed. So, I chose Mugwort, Collagen, Royal Jelly, Tea Tree and Bamboo. The packaging is more cartoon-like than the other brands I've tried before. It looks cute though. I just hope they work well for me. There was a snail version that tempted me but I kept it for later on ( as always). LOL
Color My Brows
I don't know about you but I love Etude House Brow products. They are the best so far for me in terms of coverage, duration and natural appearance. The Perfect Brow Kit worked fine for me and long ago, I had a drawing pencil (from ebay) as well which was fabulous for me. But they don't sell it on the official store. I really had to try on the eyebrow mascara. I've seen many makeup artists using this and it did give a more voluminous and natural finish. I will personally try it and let you know. Unfortunately there was no Grey which would suit me best. Rich Brown will do.
Free Discovery Kit
As you may already be aware of, I am a huge fan of gifts (lol). This discovery kit came along with the Magic Any Cushion. The latter was among the 3 weekly best-selling items and a kit was offered for free. I received a bunch of interesting samples.
-Precious
mineral BB Cream Blooming Fit, Cotton Fit and Perfect Fit
-Pearl Aura Brightening Essence
-Beauty Shot Face Blur
-Hello Raspberry and Cranberry Body Lotion
-Baking Powder Cleansing Foam
-Moistfull Collagen Facial Freshner 5mL
-Moistfull Collagen Emulsion 5 mL
I'll try my best to review all the samples. I don't know if I'll purchase the full size versions. That will be determined once I try them.lol
That's it for my haul and tips on how to shop Korean cosmetics wisely online (lol). Etude House is indeed all about cuteness and giving out good offers. I shall write individual reviews on all of the above in due time, hopefully by Christmas. Meanwhile, I'm also awaiting for another fantastic haul. I'll let you know soon enough.
I saw this on Etude House's Facebook page and I guess they are soon celebrating their 10 year anniversary. It seems they are organising a huge birthday bash for the occasion and Krystal will be there. Too bad I don't live in Korea :( Maybe amazing offers are on the way. hehe.
Happy Anniversary Etude House!!!

Please note that this is not a sponsored post. Until the day I become a Pink Bird ( Etude House's appointed reviewers), by God's will, all products were bought on www.etudehouse.com
OMG i really love "I need you sheet mask" *_* Good haul :D
ReplyDeleteNice!!! Which one did you prefer?
ReplyDeleteAcai berry *-*
DeleteI've tried Acai Berry from other brands and it smells really good. :D Love that too ^_^
DeleteHello, Can you recommend any moisturiser + sunscreen? My skin is very dry and is starting to peel.
ReplyDeleteAlso can you recommend any products for removing acne scars? Acne is not a problem, it's just the scars that are giving me a hard time.
Hi H-Addict! Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment!!! ^_^
DeleteIf your skin is very dry, you may use a face butter. You can try this one from the Faceshop if it is available in your country :http://aegyo-makeuppassionate.blogspot.com/2015/06/review-faceshop-glow-date-prep-butter.html
It is quite thick and really helps me deal with dry patches on my face and helps adding moisture for the whole day. You can also try out Serums, Essences and the Green Tea Moisture Line from Innisfree to really nourish your skin. Check out www.innisfreeworld.com. You can also use sleeping packs to provide extra moisture while you sleep. Stop using scrubs as they irritate dry skin. You can use gel-like peels or exfoliators, which are more gentle.
As for sunscreen, I use the one from Avene, a French Brand which has SPF50 and is appropriate for the tropical climate I live in. Sunscreen will depend where you live as well. Since I don't know where you are from, I cannot give you a reliable advice on that.
Concerning scars, I have that problem too. the only thing that worked for me are DIY masks, made of Honey, nutmeg and cinnamon, to treat both acne and scars. But the best solution, I guess, is not to pop your pimples, which worsens scars. Since I've tried to resist the temptation of bursting them while they are inflamed , my skin feels and looks better.
Hope it helped. I am not a pro and I am myself still experimenting with new products. Anyways, let me know what products you decided to go with and keep updated with my posts.
